ducks split last four matches
Losing two at home both by a 2-1 score to Washington State and Washington then winning two on the road by the same 1-0 score at Arizona State and Arizona the Ducks sit at 9-7-2 overall heading into their final matches of the 2008 regular season this Friday and Sunday at Pape Field.

The team plays host to USC Friday night then concludes the 2008 campaign against 1st place and highly ranked UCLA on Sunday afternoon. I apologize for not attending more matches this year but my schedule simply has not allowed it. I wish the team well these last two matches and eagerly anticipate a successful 2009 season. Thanks for visiting.

ducks draw with oregon state
A good crowd showed up for the 2008 version of the Civil War. Neither team could score a goal however and the match ended in a 0-0 draw after regulation and two, ten minute overtimes. The Duck offense, which had been so prolific in scoring in the pre-season has now been held to only two goals in the last four matches. Pictures from the match can be seen here.

The team host Washington on Friday and Washington State on Sunday.

oregon splits in oklahoma; swept in bay area
Oregon survived their trip to Oklahoma getting a split to finish the preseason at 7-3-1. Unfortunately they started the PAC-10 season 0-2 with a 0-3 loss to #6 Stanford on Friday and a 1-5 defeat at the hands of #19 California on Sunday.

The teams returns to Pape Field this Friday for a Civil War match against Oregon State at 7:00pm. Then finishes the home stand with a match against Washington State on Friday 10-24 at 7:00pm and on Sunday 10-26 at 1:00pm against UW.

ducks down interstate rival psu!
Four wins and one draw is what the Ducks have accomplished since their loss to Purdue on August 31st. That after downing the Portland State Vikings 3-0 on the road. Jen Stoltenberg added two goals to an own goal given up by the Vikings as Oregon defeated Coach Erickson's former club in Hillsboro.

The Ducks return home this Sunday for a noon match against Weber State. This one will be the final pre-season home match before PAC-10 play. The Ducks do have two more road pre-season matches at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State before the PAC-10 season starts at Stanford then California. The Ducks first PAC-10 home match will be against Oregon State on Friday, October 17th.

oregon unbeaten last four matches
After starting the season at 1-2-0, the Oregon Ducks have won three matches in a row and also gained a 3-3 draw with Long Beach State. Since the loss to Purdue the Ducks have defeated Utah 3-2, St.Mary's 2-0 and UC Riverside 3-2. Eleven goals in four matches leading up to tonight's match (9-19-08) against Portland State is one of the better stretches in club history.

purdue defeats ducks 3-1
Despite out shooting Purdue 16-9 and also a 9-1 corner kick advantage, the Oregon Ducks were unable to get by the Purdue Boilermakers Sunday at Pape Field losing by a 1-3 margin.

The team returns home on Friday September 5th against the Utah Utes at 7pm. Pictures from Sunday's tough loss are available here!

ducks beat utah 1-0 for first win
Allison Newton's goal in the 19th minute secured the Duck's first victory of the season over Utah Friday night.

2008 season underway
The University of Oregon Women's soccer team played well but could overcome a very good and sixth ranked Portland team losing 1-3 in Portland Saturday night (8-23-08).

A sellout crowd of 4892 at Merlo Field in Portland watched the Ducks cut a 2-0 lead to 2-1, then just 26 seconds later take command again with another goal for the final 3-1 margin!

Jessica Goodell scored for the Ducks with about six minutes left in the match. Jen Stoltenberg was credited with the assist.

The Ducks were only outshoot 15-9, and there was only a one shot favor for the Pilots in the second half. Cody Miles saw her first start in goal for the ducks and made three saves!

The Ducks will open their home schedule with a match against Utah State on Friday the 29th of August.
